Recipe
  1. Tamarind(imli) chutney: Strain the tamarind after crushing it with a fork to remove the fibres. The liquid that is strained is to be used. After straining the liquid, press the tamarind once again to take out all the liquid. This tamarind can be made into a chutney instead of the putting in the gravy. Opt for either one or none.
  2. Peel the cardamoms and garlic cloves. Chop the onions. The standard gravy for an Indian dish up usually consists of the above three along with tomatoes and maybe chillies.
  3. Add this to a grinder
  4. Boil the chola in a pressure cooker. It requires 1 whistle on high flame and 7 - 8 on low flame(You can put salt in the chola before boiling but then remember to add less salt later). If boiled well, the cooker’s cover should fall off on its own. An easily crushable chola is a good one for this recipe.
  5. Take the ground gravy and add three tomatoes to it. A blanched and peeled tomato might give better results but the effort won’t be proportional to the product.
Hope you enjoy ☺
